6 Fun Family-Friendly March Break Events Around Vancouver

March Break is coming up across Metro Vancouver from March 17 to 28, and we’re sure you’re gearing up to get out of the house and have some fun. With so much to do in the city, you’ll definitely find plenty of exciting activities to fill your spring break!

Here are some fun activities and events you can expect.

CelticFest Vancouver

When? March 7 to 17

As an annual celebration of Celtic culture and heritage, various venues around the city will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a festival featuring live music, dance performances, cultural activities, and a lively parade. Expect tons of festivities throughout the weekend, including a cooking demonstration, comedy night, the great Irish soda bread bake off, and more.

Let’s Hear it Live Juno Block Party

Let’s Hear it BC is a free, live music event that takes place as part of the festivities leading up to the Juno Awards. This year’s block party will be held outdoors at the Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza, and features local and national artists performing live on stage. Expect a family-friendly and festival-like atmosphere with food trucks, local vendors, and other entertainment.

Spring Break at VIFF Centre

When? March 17 to 30

Bring the whole family along to VIFF Centre and enjoy an exciting variety of films that everyone will love. The lineup for this year’s VIFF’s spring break programming involves everything Pixar, with film screenings, talks, music, trivia and more. Youth tickets are just $10.00 – and adults can save with a 3-show pack for $42.00.

Vancouver Gem & Mineral Show

When? March 21 to 23

The Vancouver Gem & Mineral Show will be making its comeback this year at the PNE Forum and will bring together enthusiasts, collectors, and traders of gems, minerals, fossils, and jewelry. The show typically features a wide variety of vendors selling beautiful and unique items such as rocks, minerals, crystals and much more.

Cineplex’s March Break Movies

Throughout the month of March, select Cineplex theatres are hosting family-friendly showings of some very fun movies like Transformers One, Despicable Me 4, The Wild Robot, and more all for just $3.99 each. 

Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival

When? Starting March 26th

Spring in Vancouver is famous for its cherry blossoms all over the city, and this year the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival will be back bigger than ever. The city will be covered in hundreds of pink and white blossoms, and there are many cultural events to attend, guided walks, and community celebrations.
