Fortunately, there are so many different options to indulge in this quintessential Quebecois experience, whether you prefer the rustic charm of a traditional sugar shack just outside of the city or the urban chic of restaurants serving up maple-inspired dishes. From fluffy pancakes drenched in maple syrup to hearty pea soup and succulent ham, there’s something to satisfy every craving.

Experience the Solar Eclipse

Get ready to witness a celestial spectacle as Montreal gears up for a rare solar eclipse on April 8th! It’s not every day we get to see such a cosmic event, and this one promises to be particularly special.

With the last total eclipse visible in the city way back in 1932 and the next one not expected for another 180 years, we’re definitely in for a treat. However, it’s important to remember that staring directly at the sun during an eclipse can be incredibly dangerous and damaging to the eyes.

But fear not, because Montreal has you covered! You can pick up a free pair of special eclipse glasses at participating libraries across the city, as well as at the Montreal Science Center, which will serve as an official viewing location. Plus, the Science Center will be hosting contests and special activities to enhance your eclipse experience, so be sure to mark your calendars and join in the celestial fun!

Catch the Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom

Get excited because Montreal’s cherry blossoms are about to burst into bloom! As the weather warms up, these stunning flowers are getting ready to add a touch of colour to the city. While they won’t be everywhere, there are some special spots where you can catch them in all their glory.

Keep an eye out in Westmount Park, Parc Ahuntsic, and Parc-nature de l’Île-de-la-Visitation for the best views. Change courses for your daily walk to check out one of these parks in Montreal so you can really get into the Spring spirit and catch these beauties in full bloom!

Immerse Yourself in the Newest Oasis Exhibit

When those inevitable April showers put a pause on outdoor fun, Oasis has the perfect solution with their latest exhibition, “Root for Nature.” Step into a captivating world of flora and fauna, curated in collaboration with National Geographic, where digital art, thematic displays, and educational zones come together to celebrate the wonders of our planet. It’s an immersive experience that brings the beauty of nature indoors, making it the ideal escape on a rainy spring day. While it’s not outside, this immersive experience will definitely have you connecting with nature on a whole new level.
