The experience
Offworld‘s space vibe starts before you even open the doors, with a storefront that resembles an out-of-this-world space station and totally sticks out from its neighbours.
Up the stairs, you’re welcomed into a futuristic and whimsical bar with stunning interior decor and seating for couples or groups throughout the space.
No matter where you’re seated at Offworld, you’ll be in awe of everything in eye sight, from the lighting fixtures to the projections of a similar-but-not-quite-earth landscape, to the holograms and bar space.
Fit right in and put on your spaciest outfit (and/or glitter) to add a little oomph to your space-themed date night!
The menu
The menu is right on-brand, with interactive elements and a map of the bar, with all of the necessary CAUTION signs and a ‘Xeno Infections Protocols‘ for a space station, of course.
LIBATIONS
The cocktails are elevated and unique, served in the most photo-worthy glasses and chambers that we can only image are served in space.
We tried the Escape Pod with Wray & Nephew and Goslings rum blend, Aperol, lemon & lime, housemade passionfruit mango syrup, Angostura bitters; and the Mesosphere with 1800 Blanco tequila, Siete Misterios mezcal, housemade blueberry mint syrup, lime juice, housemade cane sugar syrup.
NANOTONICS
Not only is the cocktail menu extensive and oh so cool, but their version of “the future of shots” are something you must try with your date! Each conveniently-sized Nanotonic includes custom health-boosting compounds like dopamine, whey protein, vitamins, and more.
Because we’re dedicated, we taste-tested almost every Nanotonic on their menu and were seriously impressed! This counts as being healthy, right?
These included (left to right): Nootropical with Mind Blow dopamine powder, vodka, peach liqueur, coconut rum; Liquid Light with Vitamin B12, 1800 Reposado tequila, mango juice, passionfruit syrup; Cold Shield with Cold Combat juice (orange, grapefruit, lemon, cayenne, ginger) , Four Roses bourbon; Golden Age with Vitamin D3, Top Secret gin, Galliano, orange juice, cream, nutmeg dusting; and Powerup with Chocolate whey protein milk, Lot 40 rye, Kahlua, dark chocolate dusting.
NOURISHMENT
Offworld does not disappoint with their small plates and shareable menu items that accompany a variety of drinks perfectly.
We, of course, had to order a burrata, because I seriously don’t know a better date night cheese than that. The Belter’s Burrata comes with olive caramel, blistered tomatoes, sourdough bread, basil, and ship-grown microherbs.
We also snacked on the Hyperlight Pretzel, fresh-baked from planet Montmartre served with house-made beer cheese dip, and grainy dijon. The perfect carb!
Lastly, we split the order of Spicy Jackfruit Nanoburgers, which come in slider-sized burgers of three. This is the vegan option and as someone who doesn’t shy away from meat in their diet, this was amazing. The jackfruit was topped with spicy BBQ sauce and pickled red cabbage.
Offworld accommodates vegan and gluten and/or dairy-free diets.
CONFECTIONARY UNITS
In case you were wondering, they do have dessert in space, which is such a relief! Offworld Bar has partnered with local Nugateau Patisserie to bring in some delectable sweet options for their menu.
These include raspberry rose lychee Magellanic Macarons and the Dark Star Eclair made with 64% dark chocolate cremeux, mirror glaze, and a chocolate medallion.
