Imagine warm soup, a crisp fall day in Calgary and your favourite person by your side, sounds great doesn’t it? On Sunday, October 1 (11am-2pm), head to Highfield Farm for their family-friendly fundraiser and harvest celebration, Soupalicious

Celebrating harvest season has never been tastier! You can sample soup, dance to live music, take a tractor ride, compete in a pie eating contest, send the kids on a pumpkin hunt, and peruse local vendors – all in support of improving food security in Calgary!

The soup

Soupalicious‘ line-up features some of the best in the city, including returning champions Donna Mac and Micro YYC and People’s Choice winners: The Light Cellar and Basil Ranch.

Proof, Blue Mountain Biodynamics, Hotel Arts, Fresh with Vresh, and Root & Regenerate are also among the participants.

The soup showdown

Who will win this year’s best soup or ‘The Golden Ladle’? The soups this year are competing in two different categories. These include:

  • The First Place Pot, determined by a panel of expert judges. Judges are Sharon Hapton the Founder of Soup Sisters, Bernice Hill of Dish ‘N’ the Kitchen, and Mayor Gondek!
  • and The People’s Choice Golden Ladle, determined by YOU! All ticket holders are granted a voting token to help determine which soup reigns supreme.

About Soupalicious

Soupalicious is a Canada wide event created by the Compost Council of Canada (CCC) and aims to support the growing of fresh food for donation to community food access organizations.

As a community urban farm and project of the CCC, the vast majority of produce grown at Highfield Farm is donated to food access in Calgary.
