Ste. Anne’s Spa is Ontario’s All-Season Magical Wellness Escape

and you need to spend a snowy winter getaway there!

We’re so lucky that Ontario is home to so many stunning getaway destinations: from private vacation rentals scattered across cottage country, to swanky downtown high-rises, and slow-paced wellness retreats. The province has opened a number of spa destinations offering outdoor and indoor services, hydrotherapies, and luxurious amenities; and Ste. Anne’s Spa in Grafton is a benchmark of elevated spa experiences.

One of the most important things to know about Ste. Anne’s Spa is that whether you’re going for a Day Package or spending the night (or weekend) there, the experience from the moment you step into the doors and receive your robe is 100% all-inclusive!

wellness, luxury, escapism

One of the most beautiful and unique things to experience at Ste. Anne’s Spa is their hydrotherapy area. During your day or overnight experience, step into tranquillity in their outdoor meditative pools, designed to offer relaxation and reflection with adjustable temperatures tailored to your comfort.

They feature therapeutic cycling to promote healing and wellness. Cycling from pool to pool, starting with the Upper Lazy River Pool,  you will gradually warm your body, aiding with healing and recovery as well as providing an enhanced sense of relaxation and well-being. This bath is heated between 90-95 degrees and is meant to give the effect of a river flowing over your body.

Next, move to the Below the Falls Sitting Jet Pool, which is also heated to between 90-95 degrees. After this, the Standing Jets and Waterfall Thermal Spa is where to go next. This bath is heated to between 102-104.

Then, move to the Upper Sitting Thermal Spa, which is also heated between 102-104 degrees completes the cycle.

Finally, ease into the Yukon Plunge Pool to reset your core. This cold pool is between 60-65 degrees. Try for 1 minute. Have more time to lounge after that? Restart the cycle from the beginning or choose to have a period of rest in-between!

Steam Room & Sauna

The wellness journey continues inside of Ste. Anne’s Spa, where they house lounge areas, treatment rooms, and vast change rooms with amenities throughout.

The outdoor warming room is at the top of the hydrotherapy area, just by the door and stepping inside will fill your body with warmth. Just inside from the hydrotherapy pools, you’ll find their eucalyptus steam room, designed to invigorate your senses and enhance your wellness journey.

The ladies locker room features a colour therapy hot tub, dry cedar sauna, steam room, rain showers, washrooms, sinks, hair dryers, full body mirrors and lockers where you can store your personal belongings. The mens locker room features a steam room, rain showers, washrooms, sinks, hair dryers, full body mirrors and lockers as well.

Spa Treatments

As part of your Day Spa Visit or Overnight Spa Getaway, you’ll receive a spa and wellness allowance applicable to spa treatments and wellness classes. Ste. Anne’s Spa offerings include a variety of heat and hydro treatments, aesthetic services, and body treatments.

stay the night, won’t you?

Ste. Anne’s Spa offers a variety of accommodation options to stay on the property, or just up the street from the building but still part of the Ste. Anne’s community.

Whether you’re spending your time there solo, with a date on a romantic getaway, or with the whole family or group of friends; they’ve put thought in to making any group comfortable and cozy at their spa.

Choose from their historic Main Inn rooms, connected to the main building and each with unique architecture and old-world charm, their contemporary new wing rooms, their Spa Cottage rooms (a short shuttle drive from the main building in a bed & breakfast-style inn), or their spacious Group Spa Cottages (like a private vacation rental home, a short shuttle drive from the main building).

All accommodations provide easy access to their dining and spa facilities – whether by complimentary shuttle service or a short walk away – while ensuring a sense of seclusion and privacy, making Ste. Anne’s Spa the ideal choice for your next visit.

our stay

We stayed in the Dove room of the bed & breakfast-style shared Spa Cottage Rooms called Birdsong. This was about a 2-4 minute drive (depending on the road conditions) from the Main Inn and was the first room on the ground level beside the front door. It’s also directly across the hall from the communal kitchen space that leads out to an outdoor hot tub & deck.

Stepping into the house reminds you exactly of what a rustic Spa Cottage looks like in your head if you try to picture it. Original wood everywhere, one long staircase leading to the second level, and large archways welcoming you into the rooms and spaces.

Once inside the Dove Room, you step back-in-time to a vintage suite offering a King bed for your sleep, a private bathroom and sitting area. The suite is warmed by a gas fireplace and is set up nightly for your bedtime routine by their complimentary turn-down service.

This is the perfect place to stay if it’s just one or two in your party, but you still want to be surrounded by people in a home setting, hearing the melodies of life above you as other travellers get ready for bed in the evening, and wake up to the smells of coffee in the morning.
