Aptly named after the sandy bottom of the lake, this Bedford park is a unique oasis consisting of a beach as well as an oasis of wooded trails. It truly is a gem within the city! Bonus: The trails in the park are off-leash (with the exception of the area in and around the beach from Spring-Fall) so you can bring your fur pal with you!

LONG LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK

This popular park located just minutes from downtown Halifax offers beautiful lakeside views and encompasses over 2000 hectares of wilderness. The Lakeview Trail (3.5 km loop) within the park includes a wide, gravel and packed sand trail to make it accessible for everyone!
