This Romantic Tofino Escape Is Worth the Journey

tofino resort marina

There’s something unforgettable about waking up to a misty ocean view, where fog rolls gently across the mountains and boats drift through the marina just steps away from your private balcony. That’s exactly what you’ll experience at Tofino Resort + Marina, a breathtaking property nestled on the edge of town in Tofino, British Columbia.

your stay starts with views

Whether you’re traveling from across the country (like we did from Toronto) or you’re lucky enough to already live in British Columbia, Tofino Resort + Marina at 634 Campbell St. is one of those places that instantly rewards you for the effort it takes to get there.

Once you arrive, the coast greets you with ocean air (unheard of in Ontario, sorry), lush forested mountains, and a laid-back surf-town vibe that feels worlds away from anywhere else in Canada.

The resort itself is perched right at the entrance to the downtown Tofino strip, making it walkable to everything while still feeling private and peaceful. The buildings are tiered into the natural slope of the coastline, designed to give you uninterrupted views and a sense of connection with the landscape around you.

the third floor king suite

We stayed in the Third Floor King Suite, which turned out to be the most spacious room type at the resort, and being there for a wedding weekend with multiple events involved, the getting-ready room was essential.

This suite is ideal for couples who like to spread out or small families since it sleeps up to four and includes a comfy king bed, a separate lounge area with a queen-size pull-out sofa, a private balcony, and two TVs (yes, you can both watch your own shows after a long day exploring).

One of the highlights? The view stays unmatched. Every morning, we opened our door to the open air and faced the Pacific, the layout of the resort means you’re never boxed in or blocked off because every building complements the coastline rather than obstructing it.

That is SUCH a nice feature especially when you’re coming from a high-rise city, a vacation for the eyes.

The suite had thoughtful touches throughout: plush robes, a Keurig, a mini fridge, a well-stocked bathroom, a Dyson fan which works beautifully, and even a gorgeous aerial-style mural on the wall that reflects the coastal landscape around you. Everything was cozy, clean, and ready for slow mornings and scenic sunsets.

this resort experience stands out

Tofino Resort + Marina isn’t just a place to sleep, rather it’s a hub for adventure and relaxation. Their amenities, offers, and activities make it it a standout choice for couples, especially if it’s your first visit to Tofino and you’re still learning your way around.

On-site Marina

Even if you’re not boating, the marina adds a lively, romantic backdrop. Watching the boats come and go is pure west coast magic.

Adventure Centre

Whale watching, bear tours, a floating sauna, guided fishing, kayaking, and hot spring visits, all bookable right on-site. You’re never left wondering what to do next.

Shelter Restaurant

While we grabbed takeout, the patio and views from this restaurant are reason enough to dine in. Think string lights, fresh seafood, and waterfront seating just seconds from your room.

Access to Tuff Fit Gym

Guests at the resort enjoy complimentary access to Tuff Fit Gym, a full-service fitness centre located right on the marina property. It features state-of-the-art cardio machines and weight equipment.

This is perfect for anyone wanting to keep up their routine or simply unwind with a good workout after a day of adventuring
