Theatre Calgary is once again leveling up YYC’s Arts & Culture scene with their latest hit show Admissions — the story of Sheri Rosen-Masons, the admissions director of a prep school who advocates for diversity and inclusiveness. See how Sheri’s belief system is challenged when her son and his Black American friend both enter a race to get into Yale. This show explores very raw, relevant and valuable topics that matter in everyday life and does so with humour and tact. Admissions runs from March 10th to April 4th – you can catch opening night this Tues!

The University of Calgary is maybe known best for Engineering, however their School of Creative and Preforming Arts takes centre stage in the realm of soul expression, mind-body connection and pure fierceness! This week, U of C’d hard-working Dance students are rocking the spot light in the annual show Mainstage. This show will feature a diverse range of pieces each carrying a unique story and power. And guess what! U of C alumni get a discount! Go show these amazing artists some love on opening night this Thurs, March 12th.
Bring the attitude to this one YYC, cause Dextress means business! This locally-based band has been harkened to `80s Rock legends and isn’t afraid to get right in your face with hard hitting chords, gritty vocals and pure bad assery. Be sure to check them out at The Rec Room on March 13th at 9pm!
The Roughnecks always bring a total rumble and this Friday March 13th is going to be extra hard core with their annual St. Paddy’s game!! It’s iconically known as the biggest St. Paddy’s party in all of YYC and for very good reason folks! From endless green beer, to limited edition jerseys and the audience’s competitive camaraderie jacked up over and across a leprechaun’s rainbow, you’ll strike major St. Paddy’s gold at this game — their divisional rivals, The Saskatchewan Rush will be beyond green with envy. Lucky for us, the fun starts extra early and features a generous happy hour from 5:30–7:30pm! And to top it off? The first 3,000 fans through the doors receive FREE beer and concessions vouchers.
