The show

The Importance of Being Earnest is a tale of mistaken identities, rapid–fire wit, and cucumber sandwiches. Wealthy gentlemen Jack and Algernon have chosen to lead double lives to evade the tedium of polite society. However, when they attempt to win the love of two women who declare they will only love a man called Ernest – chaos begins.

The cast includes  Christopher Duthie, who is performing as Algernon Moncrieff, Michael Rolfe as fellow cad John Worthington, Emily Howard as Gwendolen Fairfax, Valerie Planche as Lady Bracknell, Kathleen Faith Ballangan as Cecily Cardew, Shari Wattling as Miss Prism, Kevin Rothery as Reverend Canon Chasuble, David Sklar as Lane, and Duval Lang as Merriman.

This production is directed by Bronwyn Steinberg in her directing debut for Theatre Calgary. The gorgeous set was designed by Anton de Groot and the exquisite costumes were designed by Ralamy Kneeshaw.
